Workworkworkworkwork

On Sunday I took a break from MBA applications and rode down to the ICA to catch the last day of Charles LeDray’s workworkworkworkwork exhibit.

Party Bed, 2006 – 2007 / mixed media / 25 3/4 x 49 1/4 x 40 1/2 inches

The pieces ranged from miniature military uniforms to the familiar crumpled jacket on the floor. Party Bed (above) gave me a warm happy feeling the instant I saw it. It reminds me of cold winter parties when you have to sort through everyone’s jacket just to find your own. I appreciated how LeDray took care to consider even the textile of the mattress. Below are a few of my other favorites:

Overcoat, 2004 / mixed media / 25 1/2 x 20 x 11 inches

Tellurian, 2000 / human bone / 3 1/4 x 3 3/8 x 1 1/4 inches

A favorite part of every trip to the ICA is the observation deck.

With my free admission as a Harvard employee, I really  should go sit there and think more often.
