There’s a knock at the door and it’s a snail…

Last night I saw David Sedaris at the Harvard Book Store. He was promoting his hilarious new book “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk.”

I had scored limited seated room only tickets last month and got in line extra early to ensure good seats. My diligence was rewarded as our seats were directly in front of and a mere two feet away from his podium. Mr. Sedaris spent lots of time before his reading mingling with the crowd. Upon finding out my mom is a librarian he immediately broke out a librarian joke!

The book has been my savior now that it is cold and I have to commute to work by bus again. Usually I shy away from talking to strangers on the 66, but someone asked me about the book this morning and we had a great chat about it.

Also, David told the snail joke. You can hear him tell it on the Daily Show interview below:

  1. AAAHHH so jealous! This is why I should live in Boston with you. And someone told me that joke years ago and to this day it’s one of the only ones I remember in its entirety.
