Cindy Sherman and the Bruce Museum

A few weeks ago I went down to visit my sister in beautiful Connecticut.  Julie is doing an internship at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich. As part of her year long program, she had the task of curating her own exhibit.

The Human Connections: Figural Art from the Bruce Museum’s Collections is a masterpiece and a sure sign of Julie’s talent. She did everything from choosing the pieces from the museum’s collection to arranging the works and writing the descriptions for each piece. It was truly an amazing accomplishment and a sign of things to come.

Also on site was an exhibit of Cindy Sherman’s work collected from ten local collections in Greenwich.

Sherman is a world renowned photographer who transforms herself into the subject of all of her photos. The exhibit was amazing in the juxtaposition of all of the characters.
